Honor Code/ Pledge for all students participating in the NJSDL

NJSDL Pledge

As a member of the NJSDL, I promise to maintain integrity, benevolence, nonmaleficence, and acceptance of all members of the Speech and Debate community. I will speak with moral principles, professional standards,  equanimity, and respect for others consistently throughout my exchanges and interactions in our league and on a daily basis. I will behave with benevolence toward others through avoiding harm to my fellow competitors, and attempt to understand others’ perspectives. Through compassion and consideration for others’ thoughts and words, I will extend myself through incorporating ethical virtue in my actions and deeds. I will prevent harm through nonmaleficence, to make sure through attempting to do good for others, I will not harm anyone else. I will practice tolerance and respect for all members of my community while a member of the NJSDL.
